Character & Costume Design

Where story meets silhouette.

This is a collection of original characters brought to life through costume, silhouette, and expression. Each piece explores identity, world-building, and story, often drawing from folklore, film, fashion, or myth. This work focuses on how design can reflect personality and purpose, from post-apocalyptic survivors to shapeshifters rooted in legend.

Nina: Costume Design from Sunset Baby

Caption: This is a costume study inspired by Sunset Baby by Dominique Morisseau. These two looks reflect pivotal moments in Nina’s journey—one, her guarded nightlife persona as she navigates survival; the other, a symbol of her turning point as she prepares to leave it all behind and reclaim her future. This design focused on character psychology, visual contrast, and narrative tone.

Inspired by iconic survivors like Ellie (The Last of Us) and Alice (Resident Evil), Mazzy is resourceful, strategic, and relentlessly tough. This five-look costume study explores how she adapts to different survival scenarios — without ever losing her edge.

Daily Outfit

Mazzy’s everyday gear — practical, lightweight, and made for movement. Perfect for city scavenging and quick getaways.

Cold Weather

Built for frigid terrain and long-distance travel, this layered look balances warmth, stealth, and agility.

Hot Weather

Breathable, protective, and sun-ready — this outfit keeps her light on her feet in dry heat and open terrain.

Dressy/Formal

Clean lines with subtle armor — when survival calls for negotiation, infiltration, or blending in. A reminder that style doesn’t have to mean vulnerability.

Superpower Mode

When adrenaline spikes and something deeper kicks in — reinforced armor, enhanced mobility, and an edge that says, “don’t get close.”

Vireya: Character Design Project

Caption: Developed for a character design course, Vireya is a werewolf-inspired shapeshifter born from the fusion of Amazonian mythology and Skinwalker folklore. Her design reflects primal power, spiritual symbology, and a deep connection to the natural world. This project includes complete process work — from anatomical studies to final render — focusing on form, silhouette, and story.
